Process optimization generated a 60% reduction in order processing time

Massimo Consulting, which specializes in the retail sector and has extensive experience in processes and logistics, led a strategic process automation project for a multinational in the consumer goods sector, with the goal of optimizing the order cycle and significantly reducing operational errors. Massimo's consultants were responsible for developing and implementing an RPA (Robotic Process Automation) tool within processes integrated into the company's existing ERP, resolving system failures that previously required manual order correction — a process that directly impacted operational efficiency, order-handling speed, and the company's revenue.

According to Guilherme Felippe, project manager at Massimo, the work, which began in 2023, started with a detailed mapping of the activities carried out by the multinational's analysts, who worked with decentralized systems and manual checks. "Massimo Consulting proposed an automation solution through two ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes, which automate order handling, eliminating errors caused by registration failures and optimizing inventory management. The first stage, already implemented, delivered a 60% reduction in order processing time, which represents a significant productivity gain, with positive effects already measurable within a few weeks," says Guilherme Felippe.

Massimo's consultants fine-tuned the automation tool to fit perfectly with the company's team, taking into account the specifics of the process and the resources already available, such as the use of spreadsheets, in order to simplify the team's adaptation and speed up the project's approval by the company. With this adjustment, the company's analysts began focusing their efforts on more strategic tasks, such as direct client relationships and critical analysis of the results generated by the automation.

"In the second stage, Massimo Consulting will consolidate client portfolios into a single flow. In addition, the automation implemented offers greater accuracy in inventory monitoring, which is crucial to ensuring product availability in the market. This improved control prevents supply failures that could result in the loss of clients, especially in a competitive market, where a delay in product delivery can lead to replacement by competing brands," explains Guilherme Felippe.

A strategic advantage highlighted by the Massimo Consulting team was the choice of a cloud-based solution, which allows for constant updates and does not require direct user intervention. This generated time savings for the logistics and supply team, which can now rely on constantly updated data, without the need to access complex systems or perform manual queries on large volumes of data.

In addition to benefiting the supply chain team, the solution also brought significant gains in intercompany communication, such as between the sales and marketing departments, which can now access more accurate data and make better-informed decisions. With automation, time was gained in ongoing activities, which, in the long run, translates into greater agility and competitiveness in the market.

Gains from the implementation of the automation process:

  • Increased visibility into inventory conditions, benefiting not only the Supply Chain area but also departments such as Sales, Production, and Marketing, which depend on this information.

  • Automation of data handling and processing activities, eliminating manual tasks performed by employees and boosting productivity.

  • Faster access to strategic information, facilitating agile decision-making and ensuring proper traceability of that information.

  • Reduction of financial and commercial costs associated with lost sales or returns, caused by process errors resulting from previously non-standardized manual practices.

Massimo Consulting's expertise in process automation has supported companies in the consumer goods sector seeking greater productivity and precision in their operations, standing out in a market where technological innovation is becoming increasingly essential for competitiveness.
