In an article published by O Globo, Guilherme Felippe, a Massimo Consulting consultant, states that many logistics failures occur when a retailer expands its operation without adjusting processes and adapting technology accordingly. In some cases, these failures are directly linked to corporate systems, but companies are not always able to trace the specific causes of each type of problem.

To adjust corporate systems such as ERP, MRP, and WMS, it is necessary to understand each company's specific needs. For example, operations involving pharmaceuticals or cosmetics require a WMS capable of tracking batches, managing recalls, and offering product tracking, among other features.

"Two companies of the same size can have very different system needs," explains the expert.
