Retail: Camila Affonso discusses solutions for more efficient eliveries

In an interview with Estadão, Camila Affonso, partner at Massimo Consulting, explains some solutions retailers need to adopt to make last-mile deliveries more agile. Among the solutions are ship from store and dark stores.

Ship from store is when a company uses its own store inventory as a distribution center. Dark stores, on the other hand, are distribution centers dedicated exclusively to online purchases. Each of these solutions must go through an evaluation process to determine whether it is suitable for the respective company in order to meet online customers' needs.

"Each of these solutions needs to be evaluated within the context of the client's logistics network. In some cases, it will be necessary to innovate and adopt new network models, or invest in optimizing operational processes and systems," warns the Consumer Goods sector specialist.
